Mamun concludes Oman’s first equity crowdfunding campaign with Zameeli.

Zameeli, an Oman-based platform that connects the bridge between SMEs with local freelancers has recently concluded the equity crowdfunding campaign in association with Omani Fintech “Mamun.” Zameeli, which was formerly supported by a technology-based Oman fund, was founded by Tariq Al Habsi and Aysha Alqmashouai. This platform is a community-driven platform which serves both tech talent hubs and entrepreneurs hailing from Oman. The partnership between both of these platforms will set the stage for the upcoming launch of Mamun’s secondary market, which is anticipated to facilitate new opportunities for the Omani tech field.

The financial firm, Mamun, has thus concluded the initial equity crowdfunding campaign with an Omani platform Zameeli. Zameeli is an innovative platform that bridges the gap between regional freelancers and the SMEs of the region. This crowdfunding is the Sultanate’s first equity funding. The partnership marks a milestone not just for Zameeli, which has expanded its investment range through this funding via including the freelancers and the community, but also for the tech sector of Oman region which is actively progressing and attracting diverse investments.

The Oman platform Zameeli had previously received an investment from the Oman Technology Fund. Since then, the company has widened its group of investors to bring in a diverse range of investments through the fintech firm Mamun. This collaboration highlights the startup’s appeal and Mamun’s effectiveness in opening up investment opportunities.

Zameeli is a key player in the tech sector of Oman and its expanding businesses. It has over 1,369 onboarded clients including significant Oman industries such as Omran and the Ministry of Information, and a vibrant network of 3,368 Omani freelancers. The continuous progress of this platform represents an important enhancement for the freelance economy within the Sultanate.

This closure of the equity crowdfunding campaign by Mamun and Zameeli establishes a stage for the forthcoming opening of Mamun’s secondary market, which is looking forward to onboarding new opportunities by improving participation in Oman’s financial landscape and fostering innovation across the technology field.

The COO of Mamum, Mohammed al Tamami, stated, “The successful conclusion of our secondary market represents a significant stride towards building an ecosystem of investment and trust within Oman.
